Mary Anderson brings 39 years of experience in education and a lifelong commitment to supporting students, teachers, and school communities. She began her teaching career in Phoenix, where she taught kindergarten for seven years.

Thirty-two years ago, Mary moved to Tucson and joined Tucson Unified School District, where she taught kindergarten through fourth grade at Lineweaver Elementary School for eleven years. During that time, she served both general education and self-contained gifted classrooms, fostering engaging and enriching learning environments for all students.

She later served as an Instructional Coach at Dodge Middle School for two years before moving into school leadership. Throughout her administrative career, Mary served as principal of Miller Elementary School, Lineweaver Elementary School, and Fruchthendler Elementary School, leading each school with a focus on student achievement, collaboration, and continuous improvement. After retiring in 2022, Mary immediately returned to Tucson Unified School District to mentor new principals, sharing her extensive knowledge and leadership experience with the district's next generation of school leaders.

This year, Mary is honored and excited to serve the Dunham community as Interim Principal. She looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to support a positive, inclusive, and successful school year for every child.
