Kathy Chandler is a proud Arizona native who began her journey in education after moving from her hometown of Phoenix to Tucson. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Human Geography, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching and Teacher Education, and a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix.

Over the course of her 27-year career, Kathy has served in a variety of educational roles. She spent 13 years as a teacher in the Amphitheater Public Schools District and worked as a Learning Supports Coordinator in the Tucson Unified School District. After relocating for her husband's job, she later became a principal at a Catholic school in Sierra Vista and served as an assistant principal in the Sierra Vista Public Schools. Upon returning to Tucson, Kathy chose to return to TUSD as the principal of Dunham Elementary School, a role she has held for the past seven years.
